The 4 Year Old Class

During the course of the school year the 4 year old classes are exposed to a variety of curriculum content in a structured setting.  Various group and individual activities are used to introduce and reinforce basic concepts and skills. Letter recognition, letter sound recognition, literature and literature based activities are presented
to aid pre-reading skills and foster a love of reading. Science topics including metamorphosis, plant growth and animal behavior are explored. Patterns, counting and sorting are some of the math skills presented on a daily basis. The 4 year olds explore our world by learning about our presidents, community helpers and the past. We celebrate holidays and focus on both the secular and religious meanings of these important days. Art activities are used to introduce and reinforce concepts and to encourage the students to enjoy the creative process. In addition, the classes will go on several field trips to reinforce the curriculum content  and on many of these field trips parents are invited to join us!
