Entrance Requirements for Preschool Classes

Christ Our King Preschool in Bel Air, MD has classes for 2, 3, 4, and 5 year-olds. To enter the 2 year old program, your child must be 2 years old* by September 1 of their entry year. To enter the 3 year old program, your child must be 3 years old* by September 1 of their entry year. To enter the 4 year old program, your child must be 4 years old* by September 1 of their entry year. Entrance to the Transitional Kindergarten class is offered to students whose 5th birthday is after September 1 of their entry year or have obtained a Maturity Waiver from Harford County Public Schools to delay beginning Kindergarten. We prefer that TK students complete a 4 year old class; however, it is not a requirement. All children must be toilet-trained.**

2 Year Old Classes

We offer two options for our Happy Hearts

Tuesday and Thursday from 9:00 am - 10:30 am

Tuesday and Thursday from 11:00 am - 12:30 pm

Class time includes the following:
- Social Skill Development through peer interaction
- Modified Circle Time
- Monthly Themed Units
- Small group and independent exploration
- 1/1 support
- Story Time
- Centers
- Music and Movement
- Art
- Outdoor Play
- Snack
Class is limited to 7 children per session

3 Year Old Classes

We offer two options for our Cheerful Spirits

2-day class - Tuesday and Thursday from 9:30 am - 12:00 pm

3-day class - Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9:30 am - 12:00 pm

Class time includes the following:
- Social Skill Development though peer interaction
- Structured Circle Time
- Monthly Themed Units
- Centers with Rotations
- Large group, small group and independent instruction and activities
- Guided support for independence
- Concept Instruction - Shapes, Colors, Numbers, Letters incorporated daily
- Concepts of Print
- Early Literacy and Numeracy Development
- Story Time
- Music and Movement,
- Art
- Nature Exploration
- Outdoor Play
- Snack
Class is limited to 15 children

4 Year Old Classes

We offer three options for our Joyful Learners

3 days a week on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9:00 am - 11:30 am

3 days a week on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 12:30 pm - 3:00 pm

5 days a week from 9:00 am - 11:30 am

All classes include the following:
- Social Skill Development

- Large and small group instruction as well as independent exploration

- Review of Shapes and Colors
- Early Literacy
- Early Numeracy & Mathematics

Transitional Kindergarten Class

5 days a week meeting from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm

Class time will include, but not limited to, the following:

- Literacy Instruction (reading, writing, listening and speaking)
